Timeline 3D – A sweet Mac (only) app.

Mike R found this one so you can thank him. Timeline 3d solves the ‘space’ problem with presenting timelines by turning the timeline in the 3rd dimension and flattening out the events as you move to them. The approach is similar to that used by CoolIris – the firefox image browsing plug-in.

Not only does this app pull this off very well – but the basics of what it does is equally impressive WRT how easy it is to create a timeline. There are a number of options including pulling from an RSS feed, or from your calendar – but I did it the old fashioned way (manually).

Seeing as Apollo 13 was on at the time I whipped up this Apollo timeline. Below you’ll see the print version and the export to quicktime version. Pretty sweet I’d say.

P.S. – the source for the Apollo info is space.com
