- Don’t recognise achievements
- Impose arbitrary rules
- Play favourites
- Be inconsistent
- Be secretive
- Be unresponsive
- Refuse to listen
- Refuse to change
I’ve also found some useful instructional videos from the fine folks over at Despair Inc. If you’re in any sort of position of authority you owe it to yourself to spare the few minutes it takes to view their 3 videos here. I’m particulary fond of the ‘it could be worse’ approach.
